Why do I need to get my Orlando Septic Tank Pumped out? it’s not giving me any problems, so why should I do anything? This is a very common question we are asked at Orlando Septic Services.
First things first, Why do you need to have your septic tank pumped out?
The septic tank needs to be periodically pumped out to remove the scum and sludge from the tank. If the tank is not pumped out the sludge is allowed to build up. This can allow the drainage from the tank to the drain field to clog, resulting in costly repairs and even replacement of the tank and drain field.
The Process
The process of pumping a septic tank involves a tank truck with hoses and suction pumps. The lid of the septic tank will have to be dug up, unless you have a riser. Hoses are inserted into the tank and the scum and sludge are pumped out into the truck, where it will be disposed of properly.
What Can Happen
We had one of our clients leaving for vacation when they noticed their toilet not flushing right. They quickly called Orlando Septic Services and we went right over. Luckily the client knew where the lid of the tank was located and we started digging. After about 18 inches we found the lid and lifted it to find the tank filled to the brim. We were able to pump out the tank and also inspected the second clean out, this is where we found a big problem, a collapsed pipe! If not fixed right away they would have come home to a huge mess! Instead we fixed everything just in time for the client to catch their plane.
Save Money
The small price of pumping the tank can avoid the thousands of dollars on repairs, many of which could have been prevented. If you’re experiencing issues with your septic system, waiting usually makes the problems worse. Regular maintenance and inspections can prevent failures and save you a ton of money in replacement and repairs.
