How do you know if your Orlando septic tank needs pumping or the system needs maintenance? It’s a good question that we at Orlando Septic Services receive all the time.

To stay in good working order, all waste management systems need regular maintenance. This includes inspection of the inlets, outlets, effluent filter, pipes, septic tank itself, drain field and other important components of the system. It is also the best way to avoid costly problems!

There are a few warning signs

Foul odors. Take notice of any unpleasant odors, either inside or outside the home or business. It can mean your septic tank is full, backing up, a clogged filter, or cracked pipe.

Slow or clogged drains. A typical sign of a build up of sludge or a clogged filter.

Sewage backups. When sewage is backing up into the bathtub or sink it can mean raw sewage is present. This can be a dangerous situation and needs to be addressed as soon as possible.

Pools of water in the yard. A puddle in the yard if it hasn’t rained in a while may be a sign the drain field is compromised.

Healthy green or dying grass. Grass that is growing better over your drain field than anywhere else in the yard or grass near the septic system that is dead or dying are both signs that need immediate attention.

While most of the workings of the septic system are behind the scenes, doesn’t mean it should be ignored. The longer a problem is allowed to continue without being repaired, the more it will end up costing.  Be proactive and contact Orlando Septic Services.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The family at Orlando Septic Services encourages everyone to join us in learning more about breast cancer and support those who are suffering with the disease.

Though we have made great progress in early detection, cancer treatment and finding a cure, we still have a long way to go and need everyone’s help.
