If you own a septic tank in the Orlando, Casselberry, Altamonte Springs, Longwood, Oviedo, Daytona, Kissimmee or anywhere in between, do you know if your homeowners insurance will cover your septic system if something happens? What Insurance Companies Cover Typically, insurance policies cover plumbing features and pipes inside the home. Sudden pipes bursting, defective pumps that cause the toilet to back up or damage from malfunctioning pipes, are usually covered. Damage done from lack of maintenance, cleaning, repairs or normal wear and tear is not usually covered. Limitations Most homeowner's insurance policies don't cover any 'features' outside the home's foundation.
